POVERTY:A STATE OF MIND
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Much can be said about poverty. To me it is more of partners' affection to encourage laziness and discourage cause for action. On one hand it is viewed as oppression. On another it is an opportunity to assess one's needs and map out how to meet them. Show me a person admitting to be poor and remains adamant that he is and will remain poor and I'll show you a person riding on a wave to which when it gathers speed becomes disastrous. TIG, for example, is a forum to dispel fears that have dogged young people ever since. Opportunities are available. Connections are made and destiny is arrived at. The wonderful minds that lauched TIG exploited an opportunity that finally aggravated poverty due to lack of communication. I may not live to see all of TIG members but through it I can assure you problems have been shared and solutions found. It may sound as praise but it is simply the truth. It is disturbing to note that most of the poverty-stricken become the targets of those already out of "poverty" and stepping stones to those already climbing out of the pit or contemplating so. A world that is as wide as it is cannot address the issues of poverty. Widening the gap deepens the crisis. Narrowing the gap calls for equitability, accountability and transparency.

SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

It has always been my speculation that one day, the unification voice called gambling by the few rich will humble them into the poorest people ever. They have always shared the top cream secrets of wealth creation amongst themselves. Yet seeking protection from the poor person's kitty seems the only way out. You can't have your share of the cake and eat it. It is quite disturbing to see people having invested so heavily in stock markets rather than sustainable economic activities whose volatility is much less and enjoy very long lifespans due to their helpful nature. It is true that they take longer to yield but the fruit takes longer to wear out. This is just but a useful indicator that financial freedom can crash in a moment and make irreparable dents. It is my appeal to all comrades around the world to invest in sustainable programmes especially environmental rehabilitation. If stock markets dwindle for one week and shake the global economy, what about the environmental destruction that has taken place over the last 50 years bearing in mind that finances can be stabilised fairly sooner. Logic:You can manufacture money but not natural habitat!! In a few years we shall be in a situation where the earth will become inhabitable. INVEST IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
By the way, can someone give me a clear difference between gambling and stocks because there seems to be more similarities than differences.
1. Both are about speculation
2. Both are addictive
3. Both have special interest groups i.e High financial returns for no work done
Investment theory to me is helpful as long as it promotes equitability and not special favours.
I would like to make it clear that I am not against stocks market. I'm only viewing a number of issues together and prioritise them the way I think is best. Thank you.
